Navigation Inn

The Navigation InnThe Navigation Inn serves good ale and good food in a really friendly environment. You can find it on Risley lane heading north from the centre of the village. For walkers and cyclists, it is conveniently situated on the Millennium Way (which follows the line of the long-defunct Derby and Sandiacre Canal, hence the pub's name).

On Monday 12th August 2013 the Association of the Friends of the Breaston Navi was formally established.  There are already 88 full members and 60 associate members.

The purpose is to list the Inn with Erewash Borough Council as an Asset of Community Value under the Localism Act of 2012 and to encourage the whole community to use the Inn as a community hub for meetings, events, family parties etc.  The project has the support of Councillor Parkinson and members of Breaston Parish Council as well as Jessica Lee MP.

What does listing the Inn achieve?  If in the future, the owners, Punch Taverns, decide to put the Inn up for sale, listing under the Act gives the community 6 months to decide if it would like to buy it.  In the meantime let’s all enjoy the facilities and opportunities it offers.

An event to publicly launch the association is being planned for late September.  For more information about the project and the September event either check on here or visit the Inn and ask to read the information in the folders to be found in each bar.
